Using e-Check creates a request for funds
to be transferred from your specified bank account to Douglas County
via the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system.
A
convenience fee of $1.50 is
charged for this service, which is retained by the third party service provider

To be paid timely, your payment must be postmarked
by the due
date or the end of the grace period as may be applicable. A penalty for late payment
will be applied if the envelope is postmarked after the due date or
grace period.
Payment
must be in U.S. dollars by money order, check or bank draft.. The draft
or check must have the bank’s coded transit number along the bottom
edge.

In Person or Drop Box |
You may make your payments in person at the
Douglas County Treasurer’s Office.
We are located on the second floor of the County
Administration Building at 1616 8th Street in Minden,
Nevada (the old Courthouse). There is also a drop
box outside on the west side of the building. A penalty for late payment will be applied
if the payment is made after the due date. Payment
must be in U.S. dollars by money order, check or bank draft. The draft
or check must have the bank’s coded transit number along the bottom
edge. Tax payments made on the last (10th) day of the grace period for each installment period are accepted until 5:00 pm p.s.t. in person, until 5:00 pm p.s.t. on our website or until 5:00 pm p.s.t. in our drop-box. U.S. Postmark dates are also acceptable. |

| Escrow Account | Your lending institution may be escrowing your taxes for you. This means that you are paying a portion of your property tax in each payment you make to them. Your tax money is kept in a special escrow account and the escrow agent is responsible for paying your property taxes by the due date. Contact your lending institution if you have questions regarding escrowing. |
